Required Weekly Work

Individual Post
Two blog post per week (choose any prompt)
  • Respond to one of the DQ's (discussion questions) in 5 or more sentences using evidence from the text to support your understanding/analysis.
  • Choose a memorable quote or passage from your assigned reading and give a thoughtful reaction to it (not a summary of the reading) in 2-3 or more sentences. Then, tie in this passage to a real-life example (dealing with "tolerance themes") with 2-3 or more sentences.
  • Summarize your reading through thoughtful picture notes and commentary (do once).

Group Post
One blog post per week done with all group participants

  • Group post on experience thus far, reaction to the novel, WITH additional tie-in showing insight in understanding.  Explain how the tie-in connects to your reading.
    • Additional tie-in is your group's chance to tie in other media to your reading.  Here are some ideas below to tie-in to the reading or to themes in the reading
      1. News articles
      2. Video clips
      3. Photos
      4. Infographics
      5. Comic strips
      6. Connection to other novels/movies/tv shows
      7. Music/Lyrics/Music videos
